Following a twelve-month tender process, the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) have selected Carl Walther to equip its elite special forces with an adapted model of the award winning Walther PDP pistol.
The German Special Forces contract will span seven years and will include the procurement of guns for all mission scenarios. The Bundeswehr Special Forces that will be armed by Walther will be the KSK (Command Special Forces), KSM (Marine Special Forces) and the Special Forces of the Military Police.
The guns optimized for military applications have been adapted from Walther’s internationally acclaimed PDP pistol and will bear the name P14 (standard) and the P14K (compact model).
“We’re incredibly proud that the Bundeswehr chose our flagship PDP pistol to arm the German Special Forces. Ensuring our brave soldiers have the very best equipment as they risk their lives for Germany, is our top priority,” says Walther CEO Bernhard Knöbel.
